FAQs

Collection/ Pick up

After an auction, there is usually a specified time period for the collection/ pick up of auctioned items. This can be found in the respective item details, in the catalogue, and also published on site.

The collection can only be made after full payment and must always be carried out in full. Dismantling and collection is carried out at the expense and risk of the successful bidder/ purchaser.

As a rule, the items can be collected on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. or Fridays between 9 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. at the auction site or at their location. To arrange appointments, please contact our sales staff. See also Disassembly.

Also for online auctions:
Only personal collection on site. Shipping is not provided for.

Login/ registration to bid in an online auction

To bid in an online auction, complete application with confirmed registration as a bidder in our online area is required. Your information including VAT ID No. is checked internally and approved. You can then activate your customer data by means of an e-mail link.

With a confirmed registration and password, application/ login is possible at any time. Under “Customer data” you always have access to your customer account data.

If you have any questions about your customer data, please contact us.

Auction fee/ Extra charge

Prices for lots in our auctions or sales are directed at commercial customers and shown as net prices. These net prices are subject to the auction fee/ extra charge at 18 % (first "+") and the statutory VAT is added to this at the current rate of 19 % (the second "+"). For our Online-Auctions the auction fee is 18 %. See also Plus plus.

Call price/ starting price

The starting prices are set by the auctioneer and designate the starting price of a lot to be auctioned. The starting prices can usually be seen on site prior to the start of the auction (notice board). See also Minimum bid.

Inspection

Before an auction, there is usually a specified period in which the lots to be auctioned can be inspected by anyone. The exact period is to be found in the respective current detailed information and the catalogues. During the auction, inspection is usually no longer possible. In case of plant or property sales, individual viewing appointments can be arranged with our project managers.

Bidding/ bidder

To place a bid at an on site auction, interested parties need to purchase a so-called bidding card on the day of the auction in the office at the auction site: application with valid identification papers + VAT ID No. This bidding card has a unique number with which the bidder can place binding bids during the auction.
Bids can fundamentally be placed before an (in writing) or during an (orally, with bidding card) auction.

If you are unable to attend an auction in person, but still wish to place a binding bid or would like to place a bid for a plant or property sale, please use our bid form. See also Advance bidding.

If need be, following consultation with the project manager, a telephone bidding service can be arranged.

To place a bid in an online auction, complete application and registration as a bidder in our online area is required. Your information including VAT ID No. is checked internally and approved. You can then activate your customer data by means of an e-mail link and place your binding bids online. See also Online auction.

Interested parties without a valid VAT ID No. can unfortunately not be admitted as bidders.

Bidding agent/ maximum bid

A bidding agent can be used as part of the online auctions. After placing a maximum bid, this bidder's bid increases until his maximum bid is reached, as soon as a co-bidder bids, until the bidder is again the highest bidder. The increase takes place automatically and gradually. The bidder is bound by his bid until it is extinguished by a higher bid.

With the help of the automatic bidding agent / maximum bid, bidders can determine the maximum price they are willing to pay for a position. If the maximum bid is outbid by other bidders, a notification is automatically sent by email.

Please enter your maximum bid for a position in the bid field and confirm. The next bid level is then automatically offered, with which you become the highest bidder. The bid levels are set individually for each item prior to an auction.

Notes:

  • If more than one identical maximum bid has been placed, the highest bidder will be the one who placed his maximum bid first.
  • If different maximum bids have been placed, they will automatically outbid each other until the bidder with the higher maximum bid is the highest bidder.
  • Outbid bidders are notified by email and can place a new maximum bid or adjust their bid.

Example:  The position is at a starting price of € 100. You want to pay a maximum of 500 € for this item and enter € 500 in the maximum bid field and confirm.

  • Unless there are no other bids, € 100 is automatically offered.

If another interested party then bids for example € 150, the bidding agent automatically increases your bid to the next bid level at the same time, with which you outbid the other's € 150. You therefore remain the highest bidder up to € 500.

Disassembly

The dismantling and removal of auctioned/ purchased items is carried out at the expense and risk of the successful bidder/ purchaser. To arrange appointments, please contact our sales staff. See also Collection/ Pick up.

Free sale

In the case of free sales, the highest bid results in a fixed period from written and binding bids on the bid form.

Bids

Bids can generally be placed before an auction (in writing) or during an auction (verbally, with a bidder card).

In the case of free sales, please send us your written and binding bid using the bid form in the specified period. See also bidding.

In the online auction area, registered bidders can place their binding bids online. See also online auction.

Customers from other EU countries

Provided a valid VAT ID No. is specified which matches the address data provided (test performed on the website of the Federal Central Tax Office), a VAT-free invoice can be issued. Due to the new legal framework from 01.01.2014, for each such invoice a deposit is collected in advance at the value of the VAT, which is reimbursed on submission of all the necessary documents, especially the arrival confirmation.

Due to the effort and expense generated by the testing, deposit management and booking required for invoicing without VAT for tax-exempt intra-Community supplies, up to a net value of EUR 500 per invoice, the VAT is fundamentally charged. This does not apply to items for which tax exemption is granted at the auction.

Maximum bid/ Bidding agent

Anmerkungen:

Minimum bid

Minimum bids are set by the auctioneer and mark the starting prices of a lot to be auctioned. See also Call price/ Starting price.

Please note: Until the reservation price is reached there are no bidding agents for online auctions and bids are accepted in full.

Online Auction

To bid in an online auction, complete application and registration as a bidder in our online area is required. Your information including VAT ID No. is checked internally and approved. You can then activate your customer data by means of an email link and place your binding bids online.

Interested parties without a valid VAT ID No. can unfortunately not be admitted as bidders. For our online auctions, in addition to the general conditions for auctions & sales our special online conditions apply. For our Online-Auctions the auction fee is 18%.

Until the reservation price is reached there are no bidding agents for online auctions and bids are accepted in full.

Bidders receive automatic notification via e-mail of the current highest bid within a few minutes. If they are outbid, the bidders receive automatic notification via e-mail within a few minutes, where required.

If a new bid is placed in the last 60 seconds of an expiring online auction, the auction is extended by 1 minute each time until no more bids are placed. The end time of the following lots without a valid highest bid of the auction is postponed accordingly.

After completion of the online auction, bidders receive automatic notification of knockdowns by e-mail (advice note). After completion of the auction, your original invoice showing VAT is automatically created and sent by e-mail.

Please note: Online auction – Invoice
Please note that due to the automatic invoicing, the invoice address including upper/ lower case will correspond exactly to the information provided by you at registration. You can make changes before bidding, but subsequent re-issuing of an invoice with a different address is not possible.

Plus plus/++

Prices for lots in our auctions or sales are directed at commercial customers and shown as net prices. These net prices are subject to the auction fee at 15% (first "+") and the statutory VAT is added to this at the current rate of 19% (the second "+"). For our Online-Auctions the auction fee is 18%. See also Auction fee/ Extra charge/ Commission.

Application/ Registration

To bid in an online auction, complete application with confirmed registration as a bidder in our online area is required. Your information including VAT ID No. is checked internally and approved. You can then activate your customer data by means of an e-mail link.

With a confirmed registration and password, application/ login is possible at any time. Under “Customer data” you always have access to your customer account data.

Please keep your customer data safe. We warn against misuse. In case of questions about your customer data, please contact us.

Cheque confirmation

With a cheque confirmation (form/ template in the download section), your bank guarantees by stamp and signature that it will cash a cheque up to a certain amount. Cheques are accepted by us up to this amount.
Since cheques can still be cancelled within a 7-day limit, in the interests of our clients we also need the assurance that the invoice amount is actually irrevocably credited to the auction account.

Delivery/ Shipping

Only for self-collection from the location. A delivery is not possible. See also collection.

Auction

Used items/ lots are usually auctioned by us “as is, where is”, i.e. in the state in which they are found and inspected or could have been inspected, and without any warranty. Items are, as a rule only visually examined, not functionally.

Auction conditions

The auction conditions bindingly govern the procedure of an auction. For every auction, only the conditions displayed and the legal Auctioning Regulation are authoritative.

For our online auctions, in addition to the general business conditions, our special online conditions apply.

Auction catalogue

The auction catalogue is published by us a few weeks before the auction and contains the lots which can be bid on and purchased during the auction.
The descriptions with technical data and all statements of measurements, equipment features, etc., are approximate, non-binding, and do not constitute statements about properties. Print errors, mistakes, eliminations, third-party rights and prior sales are reserved. Careful prior inspection of the auction items is therefore the responsibility of the buyer.

Utilisation fee/ Commission

The Utilisation fee/ commission is so to speak the sales commission of the auctioneer. It is added to the net price of each position. The auction fee is 15 % of the net price. The auction fee for online auctions is 18 %. See also plus plus.

Advance bidding

Bids can also fundamentally be submitted in writing prior to on site auctions in accordance with the general conditions for auctions & sales. As a rule, bidders are bound by their advance bid for fourteen days. Otherwise periods require prior mutual written agreement.

In case of plant or property sales, please send us your written bid by bid form (template in the download area Service & Download) within the period specified. See also Bidding.

In online auctions there is fundamentally no advance bidding.

Reservation

If a knockdown is subject to reservation, there is no right to purchase the item. In this case, the bidder is bound by his bid for fourteen calendar days after the auction has ended or a period mutually agreed upon in writing in advance. If during this time there is no knockdown by the auctioneer, the purchase is not effected.

Please note: In case of reservation the collection is delayed until the final knockdown because no invoice can be issued before. After the end of an auction, our agents contact bidders with reserved knockdowns without delay.

Please note: Until the reservation price is reached there are no bidding agents for online auctions and bids are accepted in full.

Payment

The purchase price for lots purchased at an auction is due immediately after the knockdown.
The successful bidder/ purchaser is required to pay the full purchase price to the auctioneer in cash or by certified cheque.
When paying by cheque, the transfer of the purchased item, the dismantling and removal can only take place after the cheque amount has been unconditionally credited. See also Cheque confirmation.

Knockdown/ Winning bid

The knockdown/ Winning Bid at an auction or e.g. a plant sale fundamentally goes to the bidder with the highest bid. The knockdown commits the bidder to purchase and pay. Each bid may be rejected at the discretion of the auctioneer/seller without giving reasons and the knockdown denied. With the knockdown, the auctioned item passes to the highest bidder including transfer of risk. Ownership only transfers to the successful bidder/ buyer after complete payment of the purchase price.
